The movie and all of the extras are included on disc one. Rather, we get two very quick, three-minute features about the composite work behind the car effects and the production of some the film's key set pieces. While Megaton discusses this in much greater depth in the commentary, there's really no comparison to seeing it demonstrated in a fully-produced featurette, which this disc sadly lacks. The behind-the-scenes featurette is a fairly quick overview of the production, though does provide some interesting glimpses at the stunt choreography. Listening to real-life, ex-Navy Seal bad-asses talk, even broadly, about the process of transporting human cargo, taking lives and gathering intelligence to sneak past international borders is pretty fascinating no matter what the occasion. Second, only 'Transporters in the Real World' holds any real interest, offering fifteen minutes of interviews with real-world security experts speaking candidly about the difference between protecting clients in the real world and defending the heroine in a Hollywood film. The list includes:įirst off, each of the features are presented in standard definition, presenting a bit of a drag on the disc. The extras are on the flimsy side as well only one of them has any real weight or substance to it. Packaging and Extras Transporter 3 comes in a flipper 'EcoBox' case, which is made from recycled materials and is a bit flimsier than the standard Amaray case. And on top of all of it, you've got a hip-hop infused musical score which comes blasting at you from all directions. There are some interesting digital audio effects utilized in many of the scenes, which give it a little bit of an edge. The car chases and action scenes are powerful and well-balanced, creating a feeling of motion throughout the soundscape. Score: 7 out of 10 Languages and Audio The audio here is presented in 5.1 Dolby Digital EX, and it's a step up from the usual plain old digital mix. The grain is not as evident as it was in the Blu-ray version, but it's still persistent in the low-contrast scenes. Black levels are strong, but not particularly detailed.

The contrast is high and the color palette is slightly burnished, making the characters look as though they've all spent a good amount of time in the tanning booth. The third film doesn't do much to expand upon that look, but the 2.35:1 widescreen picture does deliver everything you want in a fast-moving action film. Score: 5 out of 10 Video and Presentation While the look and feel of the Transporter films might have once seemed innovative and stylish, it's become expected, even predictable, these days.
